Christian & Christopher

We started the year in Africa experiencing our first safaris and wrapping up an immersive 2-week holiday trip from South Africa to Mozambique. We spent time with our Australian friend, Brett, his travel companions, and our new German friends, Stefan and Aleksandar. We made it home in time to celebrate Christian's dad's 70th birthday. 

We reunited with the wonderful Torontans, Bob & Judi, while they were wintering in Costa Rica. It was a long-awaited reunion and we reflected on just how much the world and our lives have changed since our last trip together in the exact same place in February 2020. We also made it to Chicago for a chilly Chinese New Year and hosted friends for an Atlanta CNY celebration. 

Christian joined Christopher on a work trip to London to spend time with some of our favorite Brits: Christian's godparents Clive & Sarah in Kent, and a great reunion with Christian's cousin, Vanessa, and friends, Lisa and Louisa. We popped up to New York for a quick celebration with Joyce & Esther, and a Long-Island weekend with Andrew & Bill, and Sarah, Jeremy, & Larry.

Our close friend Scott invited us to the Masters for an incredible weekend of golf spectating. We joined the wonders of the institution that is the Masters, followed Tiger for a day, and enjoyed the final putts on 18 to wrap up a memorable weekend at Augusta National.

We continue to enjoy making some of our favorite memories at our house on Lake Burton in the Georgia mountains. We spent MDW soaking up the best of summer life hiking, tubing, skiing, and loving the lake. We are so thankful for our 2023 lake visitors -- Kaitlyn & Garrett, Lynn, Dominic, Vanessa, Natalie, & Rob, Hedy & David, and Scott & Nash.

As summer heated up, so did our work schedules and Atlanta calendars -- particularly with Christian on the eve of a 10-week jury trial. When things calmed down, we squeezed in a quick escape to Playa del Carmen and checked off a top bucket list item: swimming with massive whale sharks. The sharks and post-swim margaritas did not disappoint!  

We were enticed by some great deals and took our first Virgin Voyages trip on the Adriatic Sea. The voyage and our new friends far exceeded expectations. We hope to return to these destinations in Greece, Croatia, and Montenegro. We ended July on our annual Pepperdine "Bros Trip" with Lynn, Bobby, and Alejandra in the 120-degree Phoenix heat.

After a short six weeks, we were back in Europe for our second Virgin Voyages trip and convinced friends Luis & Zac to join. We made new Gen-Z friends along the way, spent a very memorable day carving marble in Carrara, Italy next to Michelangelo's former residence, a great weekend back in Barcelona, and a fun night dancing with the DJs in Ibiza. 

We spent a picturesque LDW in Paris reconnecting with Christopher's high school friend, Sara. Then a quick 24-hour stop in SF to surprise our friend Lacy for her Barbie birthday party. We made it home in time for a long weekend with Christian's family celebrating Christian's dad's 70th birthday with a full-day Land Rover off-roading experience at the Biltmore Estate. 

Autumn arrived with a visit from friends, Branden & Colten, to Atlanta and a long weekend of Pride celebrations. Christian led a group of colleagues and their families to march in the Atlanta Pride Parade for the first time in firm history. We closed the month with a weekend on Amelia Island for Lexie & Jake's wedding and a weekend in NYC celebrating two of our best friends Sarah & Jeremy.  

November brought unforgettable memories of a lifetime. We started with celebrations for the announcement of Christian's promotion to partner at BCLP and traveled to China for a 5-city adventure with Christopher's mom over Thanksgiving where we ate our weight in delicious food and toasted to his mom's *final* and successful round of chemotherapy for 2023. 

We kicked off the holiday season with our third-annual party and have a month packed with festive celebrations before spending the last two weeks of 2023 on a European adventure with Lynn to Germany, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, including our first-ever river cruise and much-anticipated Christmas markets.
